And my trainer asks, “who is Richard Simmons??”
So I made it to my appointment yesterday with Eric at Workout Anytime… Do you know that he had no idea who Richard Simmons is!?
WOW it’s just unbelievable to me that this generation of fitness trainers has no idea who Richard is/was.
ANYWAY – yesterday was more of an assessment than an actual workout. He had me do 1 mile on the treadmill (after a warm up) to get my time, I did some pushups (only made it to 5 and 1/2), planks (15 and 1/2 seconds), and squats (15).
Looks like 5 was my luck number yesterday!
Where I need work
So of course, we need to work on flexibility, especially with my hip and back issues), along with getting my cardio back to what it was back in my Slimmons days.
Monday. Wednesday, Friday, I workout with Eric at 10am for the 6 week Fitness Challenge Program. If I lose 20 pounds, I get my money back (or of course I can use it to pay for a membership if I want to keep working out.)
My Goal – longevity
MY actual goal is to stay fit into my 60s and 70s, so I won’t end up in a wheelchair or using a walker!
Although its not Richard and it’s not aerobics, it feels strangely familiar and almost comforting to be back in a gym again.
