πŸ₯— Why No Meat?

It’s About More Than Your Health

I love a good steak. And burgers? Fugeddaboutit! I was raised as a solid meat-and-potatoes gal, with many of my ancestors growing up as farmers growing their own food. My parents are meat and potatoes all the way, too.

So for me, eating meat was normal, and done at just about every meal, as I am sure it was and is for many of you.

But At What Cost?

Have you ever thought about how many cattle it takes to feed the over 330-Million people in the United States? Let’s say maybe half of those people don’t eat red meat. It still takes a lot of cows to fill the need.

Did You Know…

Cows constantly burp. Yes we can giggle at the thought, but they do. The methane they emit from their burps seems harmless enough, after all it’s been that way always, its nothing new in their biology.

But then take into account how many cows live on our earth right now, solely for the purpose of providing us wit h food: The United States alone is home to approximately 92.1 million cattle and calves (as of 2022).

That’s a lot of BURPS! And sadly, the methane they emit is one of the main factors contributing to Global Warming…

Here is a great article to explain the relationship between Cows, Methane, and Global Warming: Cow Burps and Climate Change

It really is food for thought!
