The Day before Scale Day

Tomorrow is weigh in day, and I usually get extra strict the day before. Today will be no cookies, not snacks, no goodies… Just good health food that is also delicious! What is making this a little extra challenging is a little box that arrived from Los Angeles on Monday…

SEE’S CANDY!

If you’ve never had See’s chocolate, you’re missing out on THE BEST chocolate this side of Belgium. Having lived in Los Angeles for 10 years, and living about a mile from See’s Candies, I got very spoiled! I could go there, or go to the shop in the mall, anytime. They always give a free sample too, so it was well worth the trip.

The Box Comes Every-Other-Month

I set myself up an auto-delivery that comes every other month, and I should have canceled it but I actually forgot it was coming. The first box of 2024 arrived the day I was dealing with Simba’s bite, so I tossed the shipping box into the pantry closet, where it remains. SO un-Rita of me; usually I claw it open upon receipt and eat about 4 pieces!

But this time, I will enjoy it slowly, one or two pieces at a time. I bet it will taste even better that way.

Veggie Scramble

1 cup mixed veggies (mushrooms, yellow squash, tomatoes, shredded carrots and broccoli)

1 tsp butter

2 eggs

2 T shredded cheese

1/3 of a regular sized bagel

black coffee

I had intended to eat a tangerine but it tasted nasty!

Dinner

large salad with nuts and chick peas for protein

2 cups – Romaine, cabbage, shredded carrots, shredded broccoli

5 cherry tomatoes

1/3 of a cucumber

1/2 cup chick peas

2 sliced strawberries

2 T cashews

2 T crunchy chow mein noodles

1 T marie’s ranch
